
The Montreal Canadiens announced on Sunday that they have reached a two-year contract agreement with goaltender Jakub Dobes.
The terms of the deal include an average annual value (AAV) of $965,000.
Dobes, who was originally a fifth-round selection by the Canadiens in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, recently completed his first season playing in the NHL.
During the season, the 24-year-old netminder played in 16 games, posting a .909 save percentage and a 2.74 goals-against average, finishing with a record of 7 wins, 4 losses, and 3 overtime losses. Dobes also saw action in three post-season games for Montreal, where he registered an .891 save percentage and a 2.91 goals-against average.
Looking at his performance in the American Hockey League (AHL), Dobes has played 65 career games, maintaining a goals-against average of 2.82 and a save percentage of .906.
