Benn, Stars again fall short of Stanley Cup shot after third-straight West final

NHL

The Dallas Stars have achieved something unprecedented in the last three decades: reaching the Western Conference Final three times in a row.

However, throughout this impressive run, they have failed to clinch the Stanley Cup. They didn`t even manage to secure a spot in the final series.

Captain Jamie Benn, who is approaching his 36th birthday and is set to become an unrestricted free agent after 16 seasons with Dallas, shared his feelings: “Three years in a row now, you get that close and you come up short … obviously not a good feeling.”

For the third consecutive season, and the second time specifically against Edmonton, the Stars` playoff journey concluded with a defeat in the Western Conference Final. Their most recent loss was a 6-3 scoreline to the Oilers in Game 5 at home on Thursday night.
