Badosa, Tsitsipas joke about ‘white wedding’ on Laureus red carpet

Could wedding bells soon chime for another prominent tennis couple?

While not yet following in the footsteps of recently married Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo or engaged pair Katie Bouler and Alex de Minaur, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas were playfully evasive when questioned about their relationship future on the Laureus World Sports Awards red carpet on Monday.

Walking the red carpet in complementary white outfits by Pedro del Hierro—a `Greek color,` as they both joked—the couple suggested their attire was fitting for a potential future wedding.

`Perhaps it`s a sign,` Badosa remarked about their clothing. Tsitsipas added that they have indeed discussed ideal settings for what they call their `Greek wedding`.

However, they haven`t finalized any plans.

`We`re still figuring things out,` Tsitsipas commented.

`It`s a competition between Spain and Greece,` Badosa responded, `but Greece holds a special place in my heart.`

Badosa and Tsitsipas weren`t the only prominent tennis figures at the event, held in Madrid just before the start of the ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 Mutua Madrid Open.

Among other attendees were Carlos Alcaraz, nominated for World Sportsman of the Year (an award presented by Novak Djokovic), Rafael Nadal, who received the Laureus Sporting Icon Award, as well as Belinda Bencic, Caroline Garcia, Laureus ambassador Garbiñe Muguruza, and Donna Vekic.

Tsitsipas admitted to being star-struck by the array of famous faces present, including Simone Biles, Rebecca Andrade, and Lindsey Vonn.

`This is a new experience for Paula and me; we haven`t attended a gala before,` Tsitsipas shared. `Her dress and my outfit together create an incredible transformation. Tonight truly feels like something out of a Hollywood film.`
