UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall has made it clear that he is no longer planning to wait for a fight against the undisputed titleholder, Jon Jones.
Their potential clash was anticipated for this year, but it appears the promotion`s management and the high-profile American fighter were unable to reach a financial agreement.
Aspinall commented on his situation, as quoted by ESPN: “I saw many people comparing me to Michael Chandler, who has been waiting a significant time for Conor McGregor… I am not waiting for one specific fight. I`m not trying to face just one individual. My goal is to fight *all* the top heavyweights. I aim to be the guy in the division who can defeat anyone. It truly doesn`t matter who it is: Ciryl Gane, a rematch with Volkov, Almeida, Derrick Lewis, Brock Lesnar. Whoever is put in front of me, I don`t care.”
“Let`s put the talk about Jon Jones behind us for now,” the British fighter added. “I am an active participant on the roster. I am going to fight someone soon, and that announcement should be coming relatively quickly.”
