Arniel Suggests Playoff Adjustments After Jets’ Defeat to Sabres

NHL

WINNIPEG — It must be acknowledged that Scott Arniel makes effective tactical changes during games.

The Winnipeg Jets coach has largely maintained consistent forward lines throughout the season. However, he has demonstrated a talent for implementing the correct adjustments when necessary during games.

In the late stages of the third period of Sunday`s 5-3 defeat against the Buffalo Sabres, Arniel`s adjustment of lines – specifically substituting Nikolaj Ehlers for Nino Niederreiter to play alongside Adam Lowry and Mason Appleton – resulted in a critical goal with just 3:28 remaining in regulation time.

Ehlers skillfully carried the puck from one end of the ice to the other and scored with his signature powerful shot from the left side, narrowing the score to 4-3.
