Arman Tsarukyan Explains Why He Thinks Ilia Topuria Is Weak

MMA

Arman Tsarukyan has shared his reasoning for viewing fellow UFC fighter Ilia Topuria as a weak opponent.

During an interview with Daniel Cormier, Tsarukyan elaborated on his assessment. He referenced Topuria`s fight against Bryce Mitchell, whom Tsarukyan described as “the worst lightweight.” Tsarukyan highlighted that Mitchell managed to knock Topuria down and maintain control over him from a challenging position during their bout.

Based on observations like this, Tsarukyan firmly stated his opinion: “I can say that Topuria is not a fighter of particularly high level. I think he is weak.” Tsarukyan further speculated that Topuria could be easily dropped multiple times because he doesn`t actively employ defensive grappling techniques, such as attempts to choke or similar maneuvers, suggesting this deficiency would cause Topuria to fall outside the elite pound-for-pound rankings.
