Former UFC lightweight title challenger Arman Tsarukyan recently offered his technical assessment and comparison of two prominent fighters: Islam Makhachev and the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov.
According to Tsarukyan, Islam Makhachev possesses a clear edge in technical proficiency, specifically highlighting the differences in striking. He noted, “In technical terms, Islam is definitely on another level. If you look at Khabib’s striking technique, how he kicks or boxes — they are two different things.”
However, Tsarukyan was quick to point out Khabib`s distinct areas of dominance. He stated, “But the pressure, wrestling, control on the ground, and breathing are Khabib’s strengths.” Despite acknowledging Khabib`s unique attributes and overwhelming grappling dominance, Tsarukyan concluded his comparison by reiterating his initial point: “But overall, Islam is on another level [technically].”
