Anthony Beauvillier re-signs with Capitals on two-year, $5.5M deal

Anthony Beauvillier will remain with the team. The Washington Capitals announced on Thursday that the unrestricted free agent forward has signed a two-year contract extension worth $5.5 million.

Beauvillier concluded the previous season as a member of the Capitals, having been acquired by the team in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins in March.

In his combined time with the Penguins and Capitals last season, Beauvillier recorded 15 goals and 10 assists across 81 games.

Over his career spanning 631 NHL games with the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Washington Capitals, Beauvillier has accumulated 131 goals and 140 assists for a total of 271 points.

Originally drafted 28th overall by the Islanders in the 2015 NHL Draft, Beauvillier is a native of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec.
