Alex Pereira Reportedly Declined Rematch Against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 317

MMA

According to top light heavyweight contender Magomed Ankalaev, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira has turned down a proposed rematch against him. The bout was reportedly targeted for UFC 317, scheduled to take place on June 29 in Las Vegas.

Ankalaev shared this information on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He stated, “I was offered to fight Alex during the International Fight Week [when UFC 317 is held], if that person doesn’t want to, let’s move on, I’m ready for anything.”

It is important to note that Pereira and Ankalaev have not previously faced each other in the Octagon. Ankalaev`s claim suggests a potential title eliminator or title fight was on the table for the June event.
