Alex Ovechkin Leads Capitals in Honouring Wild’s Marc-Andre Fleury

NHL

Despite chasing NHL goal-scoring history, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin took a moment to honor the historic career of the opposing team`s goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury.

After a 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild, the Capitals players began to leave the ice. However, Ovechkin knew this was their last game of the season against a Western Conference team, and thus, their final matchup against goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

The captain then rushed to his bench and called his teammates to congratulate Fleury, who was the backup goalie on Thursday, on his successful career.
