MMA

Following his loss to Aiman Zahabi at UFC 315 in Montreal, former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo shared his reflections on the fight and his future.

Aldo took the opportunity to thank key figures within the organization, stating, “Dana White, Sean Shelby, thank you. Lorenzo Fertitta and all the guys from UFC – thank you for everything you have done for me.” He elaborated on the difficulties leading up to the bout, explaining, “this time it was especially difficult for me, and it was not only about the weight cut.”

Despite his focus on making another run for a title, Aldo revealed a deeper struggle. “I was focused on a new title run, wanting to be a champion,” he said. “But, you know, I found it very hard the whole week leading up to the fight. And at some point I just felt that I didn’t have that fire in my heart.”

Candidly addressing his current mindset, Aldo declared, “I no longer want to do this. I no longer want to go out and fight, to engage in wars. I no longer have the former spark. So, I think, this was my last fight.”

It`s important to note that Jose Aldo lost the fight against Aiman Zahabi via unanimous decision from the judges.
